About us,
McCall Talent Agency is dedicated to help the parents of outgoing babies, toddlers, and young children get off to a good start in the entertainment industry. We strive to prepare parents with the right knowledge, and tools for success in television, movies, and commercials. You will step into this industry with everything you need at no up front cost to you. We will find your child an agent, educate you on work permits, Coogan accounts, what to expect at auditions, and much, much more.
Having been parents of child actors we have been advocates for the education of parents for over ten years, Bob and Cathy are a team that will work hard not only for the success of your little one, but for the well being of your child as well.
About your child,
So everyone says your baby “oughta be in show-biz”,- in the grocery store, at the mall. Parents of little ones hear that a lot. If people only knew...
Babies are cute, no doubt about it, and sometimes you can just tell who’s got the big “it” factor. But having “it” isn’t everything. Your little one needs to LOVE everyone, and not just when you are holding him. Your baby needs to like to held by someone they have never seen before, and enjoy it. They need to like crowds, or quiet, they need to be able to go with the flow. If not, both of you are in for some unhappy times .
About the parent,
You need to love to be out and about with other people. Being ready for long car rides is a must and “Hurry up and wait” becomes your life when going to jobs and auditions. Even more than the parents, your little one you need to be a go with the flow person. If you hate freeways and traffic, think carefully. If you hate last second running out of the house to auditions, or not knowing until 9 p.m. the night before, that tomorrow you have a 7 a.m. call time, think it over. If you work and don’t have another driver available it will be impossible to do this for your child. Auditions are most often given out with less than 24 hour notice.
About the money,
As a Talent Agency we charge percent of your child’s earnings. If your child doesn’t make money neither do we. Good deal, right? But sometimes it takes a while before a booking so you need to think of the costs. You may provide me with good usable Mommy photos, photo place photos, or you can come to my place and I will take them at no charge. You’ll be paying for the printing, and paying to change them on LA Casting. You’ll be paying us the agents fee as well as putting 15% into a Coogan account (a court blocked account a child can’t touch until they are 18) So, unless your little one is one of the very, very lucky ones, the reality is you had better be doing this for fun.
Wow, guys are you just trying to get rid of us or what?
I’m sorry we don’t mean to discourage you. We just want to have parents that are ready, informed and know what they are up against. I’d rather put it all on the table before we start rather than to waste your time or our time if you change your mind.
